I'm back in my favorite of musical habitats, the studio. Recording has picked up this spring, and the end is in sight. All of the songs have been conceived, and most have been recorded. I anticipate a release sometime later in the the year. There's a little something of everything this time around- life and death, ambition, ambivalence, reflection, and the carnival-esque circus soundscapes of yesteryear.
Recording is happening in the cosy and record-filled studio known as the Doghouse. We've improvised when we lacked certain instrumentation ( no marching band hand held cymbals? A mismatched crash and high hat rigged with handles made from strings holding up the curtains does the trick. Bass drum not giving you the right sound? Get on the floor and hit it with your fist), and what we haven't lacked is there in the form of mandolins, ukes, children's glockenspiels and shakers bearing the appearance of fruits and vegetables. Nancy Sinatra and her boots made for walking look down and watch every take from from the album cover hanging on the glass window of the isolation booth. The turn table is there, should you want to spin a record by anyone you could think of- and that alone could occupy you for days on end.
This one has truly been fun to make. Stay tuned for details and whatnot.

December, 2011- Back in the Studio
This winter marks a return to the studio. This time around, I am recording a new single titled "True Believer" at The Doghouse in Mill Valley, California with Don Zimmer at the helm. Don is a talented musician who helps head up Floating Records out of Sausalito. The sessions are going quite well! We are nearly finished with the song, which will be mixed and mastered in the coming weeks and be made available in early 2012. Stay tuned for details.
